Many of us read positive books and watch inspirational videos and think - hey I can have a positive attitude. Yes, we can however that means resisting doubts and other negative thoughts that can basically sabotage our positive mindset. The question really is how do we stop those negative thoughts? You see, I used to be that guy who was determined to make a change in my life and was going to block those debilitating thoughts. I was going to guard against them and be on the look out so that I could dispel them long before they became a threat to my goals.
What I failed to realize was that those doubtful thoughts were not big dragons that we could see coming for miles and prepare for. Most doubts are like little grass snakes that quietly sneak up on us when we're unaware. They seem so minor, so insignificant but before you know it there are enough of them there that by the time we realize we've allowed them in they have already done their damage.
The real trick is to know that we are not looking for huge dragons to slay in our lives but rather to make small, even tiny changes to our thinking and our daily lives gradually. Sure we may not have overnight success but over time we learn to adopt them and the more constructive behaviors become habits that ultimately serve us in the long run. Come on, how many of us have made new years resolutions and abandoned them within days or never even gotten started? That's because will power is a short burst of energy that can rarely sustain us long enough to form the habit we're looking for.
If we're ever to accomplish our goals then we need to dig down to the root and decide our "Why". Why do we want this new change? What are we looking to accomplish? Once we truly know the reason we want it, then we can make plans to get there and prepare for the snakes. It's a lot easier to spot the enemy when you know what it looks like and where to find it. Then we can make adjustments to our course and get the best possible results.
Being a positive person does not mean we'll never have another negative thought, but rather that we'll be better equipped to handle them when they do come. One thing is for sure in order to become a person who is basically happier and more well-adjusted we need to first understand our own mindset and then continually feed it positive and uplifting thoughts. We all know the old adage, "Garbage in Garbage out". Well, the same holds true for our minds and seeing as that's where our words and our actions start from it only makes sense to start there. Feed our minds positive and inspiring thoughts and we'll align with them and produce more of the same. It's simply resisting the urge to buy into what we already know is negative and non-constructive and choosing what we know will serve us better.
There's a positive lesson to be learned in every situation - just give it the attention you deserve.

In today’s age we see more and more gurus and experts, it seems just about everyone is one on every topic humanly imaginable, except us that is. We’ve been influenced to such a degree by books, movies and television shows. One great example is “The Secret”, this was a book and DVD release that delved into the law of attraction. The idea is that everyone ultimately has control over their own lives and circumstances. It starts in the mind as a thought, then as we ponder the thought we decide on whether or not to act on it, thus resulting in action or inaction. Of course there is more to it than that but way too much to explain all here. I’ve been a huge fan and proponent of The Secret and had mixed reviews from many. There are those who love it and practice it, those who liked it but have not done anything to implement the teachings into their lives and then there are those that didn’t like it at all. One common comment I often get is, “it was very Hollywood” and “it looks great in the movie but putting it into practice is another story”. Another feeling is that it seemed to revolve a lot around material things.
I’m very fortunate to be one who has implemented these practices into my everyday life. The results have been remarkable. One of the things I discovered on this path was that there is a ton of knowledge out there and many people who know more than I do. I often ran into situations where I didn’t know who to believe. I realized that ultimately I do have many of the answers within me I just need to tap into them in my own way, it’s different for everyone.

If you’d like to know more visit http://www.KnowForYourself.com you can see clips of the film and get a taste. You can even get your own copy using the Referral code 132491. This is just one of those things you want to stand on top of the highest building and shout it to the world, “watch this movie it will change your life forever”.
